I am an English teacher who sometimes does translation work. I have a Master's degree in an education field, but my passion is really cooking. I studied in different countries and fell in love with the foods, and practised to make them myself. I am an equal-opportunity cook, so my dishes may not suit vegetarians :) My favourite food is anything deep fried or grilled, and I would walk that extra mile to get them. Dedication, huh?
Intro to Indonesian food: Ayam Goreng
This is your chance to taste some of the amazing and famous Indonesian dishes you have often heard about! From nasi goreng (fried rice) to beef rendang, experience the flavour the world is falling in love with. Every week will feature a different dish, and the same dish will be available for one week. If you are not into spicy food, do not worry because I have adjusted the spices for those who can't handle too much spice. Examples of the dish: -Nasi goreng (fried rice) - Gado-gado (Indonesian salad with peanut sauce) -Beef rendang (slowly-cooked beef in coconut sauce) -Ayam goreng (Indonesian fried chicken dipped in sweet soy sauce) -Rawon (beef black soup) -Soto ayam (chicken noodle in turmeric soup) -and many others! The dish in the picture is ayam goreng (fried chicken), which will be served with rice and salad. Indonesians normally eat their meals with sweet iced tea, which will also be provided with the meal. Other available drinks are red/white wine, beer, cider, lemonade, coca cola, tea, coffee, and ribena.
