It's been a really long time since I've eaten such delicious home-cooked asian food! Grace was the perfect host and chef, and made me feel extremely welcome in her home. Her cooking reminded me of my childhood meals growing up, and everything was amazingly tasty and so satisfying. The meal started with pork satay, with a really yummy peanut sauce that I couldn't get enough of. I especially loved the nonya chicken curry, which was just the right level of heat and spice, and the coconut milk added full fragrant flavor to the gravy. The chap chye too was absolutely scrummy, and I loved that the taste of nam yee that infused the whole dish with a glorious umami, bringing back memories of family gatherings around the dinner table during the Chinese Lunar New Year period when my mother would prepare this same dish. The cheng tng was the perfect end to the meal, cool and refreshing without being too cloyingly sweet. All in all, an exceptional culinary experience and definitely worth trying. Thank you Grace for such a wonderfully scrumptious meal. I look forward to trying your cooking again in the future!
